Turnips & Cauliflower

4 turnips, peeled and quartered

1 head cauliflower, quartered

½ cup cream

1 Tbsp. sugar

Salt and pepper to taste

Boil the turnips for 45 minutes.  Steam the cauliflower for 20 minutes. Drain the cooked turnips in a colander and return them to the pot. Add the cooked cauliflower to the pot.  Use a potato masher to mash the turnips and cauliflower.  Stir in the cream and sugar.  Add salt and pepper to taste.

Our comments:  This is strange food.  I’m not a big fan of turnips, but for some reason these turnips taste great with ducks. It’s the only time I fix them.
